Every year in August the streets along Bras Basah and Bugis transforms into an ethereal wonderland of lights. An exciting line up of both heritage and cultural experiences in a showcase of lights complete with outdoor installations, night performances and many more! Using the vernacular term as a departure point, Norah Lea, Farizi Noorfauzi and Zulkhairi Zulkiflee challenge common assumptions about Malay identity through artistic responses that unpack gender relations, class affiliations and cultural politics.
