Role overview
Royal Albatross is looking for a hands-on Technical Marketer who combines digital marketing expertise with strong technical capabilities. This is not a traditional marketing role. We are looking for someone who can build and maintain websites, manage and optimise paid advertising campaigns, implement tracking and analytics, and use AI agents and automation to improve marketing and business processes.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working inside a website’s code, analysing advertising performance, troubleshooting conversion tracking, and experimenting with the latest AI tools.
Website development & maintenance
- Develop, maintain and improve company websites and landing pages.
- Make front-end website changes using HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript.
- Work with CMS platforms such as WordPress and other website technologies used by the company.
- Build high-converting landing pages for campaigns, promotions and lead generation.
- Improve website speed, mobile responsiveness, usability and conversion rates.
- Troubleshoot technical website issues and coordinate with external developers when required.
- Implement forms, APIs, tracking scripts and third-party integrations.
- Understand basic hosting, domains, DNS and website deployment.
- Implement technical and on-page SEO improvements.
Performance marketing — SEM & paid media
Manage and optimise paid advertising across Google Ads (Search, Display, Performance Max, Remarketing) and Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram, retargeting and audience campaigns).
- Keyword research and campaign structure.
- Audience targeting and segmentation.
- Ad creation and testing.
- Conversion tracking and landing-page optimisation.
- Budget and bid optimisation, A/B testing.
- ROAS, CPA, CPL and conversion-rate analysis.
- Identifying opportunities to improve marketing efficiency and reduce customer acquisition costs.
Analytics & tracking
- Implement and maintain Google Analytics 4.
- Manage tracking through Google Tag Manager.
- Configure Google Ads and Meta conversion tracking, including Meta Pixel and Conversions API.
- Create dashboards and reports showing campaign and website performance.
- Diagnose tracking discrepancies and attribution problems.
- Use data to recommend improvements to campaigns, landing pages and the customer journey.
AI agents & marketing automation
A major part of this role is identifying ways to use AI and automation to make the marketing operation faster and more effective.
- Build and configure AI agents for marketing and business workflows.
- Create automated lead-generation and lead-nurturing processes.
- Connect AI tools with websites, CRM systems and other business applications.
- Develop AI-assisted customer enquiry and response workflows.
- Automate repetitive marketing and administrative processes.
- Build workflows using tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier or similar platforms.
- Work with APIs, webhooks and structured data.
- Experiment with platforms such as ChatGPT/OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and other emerging AI technologies.
Candidates who can build custom AI agents or lightweight applications using Python, JavaScript or APIs will have a strong advantage.
Required skills
Technical — HTML, PHP and CSS; JavaScript; WordPress or similar CMS; website hosting and basic server/domain management; APIs and integrations; SEO.
Performance marketing — Google Ads; Meta Ads Manager; Google Analytics 4; Google Tag Manager; conversion tracking; landing-page optimisation; A/B testing.
AI & automation — ChatGPT/OpenAI or similar; AI agents; prompt engineering; workflow automation; n8n, Make, Zapier or equivalent; API integrations.
Preferred skills
- Python, Git/GitHub, SQL or database fundamentals.
- CRM integrations, email and WhatsApp automation.
- Google Search Console, Looker Studio.
- Server-side tracking, Meta Conversions API, Google Ads API / Meta API.
- Building internal AI tools or applications.
- E-commerce, hospitality, tourism or experience-based businesses.
